This is the only place to stay in Cusco!

My hospitality/PR career of 35 years left me very picky, especially when it comes to accommodations and service. This is the first time I have felt a hotel truly earned a rating of excellence. It was my first two days of a two-week journey in the Andes when I checked into Antigua Casona San Blas. From the first moment I was treated with TLC. Grace was absolutely top notch at the front desk; kind, helpful, surpassing all of my expectations. And Alfredo in the bar, where I ate the two best meals of my entire journey was attentive, fun, and absolutely professional - all at the same time! I loved my room, hot water bottle waiting for me, breakfast blew me away. I have never had more amazing food/service in any of the five-star resorts I represented. And fresh water, saving all that plastic! There are too many incredible details to list. Oh, did I mention how affordable this magical place is? Yes, that too. How I longed to go back, not one of the so called highly rated hotels (including another that my tour group booked in Cusco - terrible experience) we stayed at for the rest of the trip came even remotely close to my experience here. You should open a hospitality school, service and genuine hospitality was non-existent in almost all of the other hotels I stayed (much higher rates). Bravo to you all! Take a well-deserved bow!

Cuzco’s hidden gem; flawless.

We spent two nights here and couldn’t speak any higher of the experience. The hotel is very well decorated and it was clear that a lot of thought had gone into every part of the guest experience and the attention to detail and care from every member of hotel staff was second to none. We were particularly impressed by the complimentary hot water bottles and tea brought to our room every evening; the filtered water provided in our room every day; and the care taken to be sustainable wherever possible (for example, filtered water was provided in a jug rather than in plastic bottles). We wouldn’t hesitate to stay here again.

Perfection.

This hotel is perfection! The architecture is gorgeous with careful attention to details. Location in San Blas makes it so easy to walk everywhere. The staff were all kind and helpful, arranging a cab to the airport as well as holding our bags for 4 days while we hiked the Inca Trail. The night we returned, our bags were waiting for us in our room. The room was beautiful and well appointed. Our nightly tea service and bed turn down was such a nice treat! The breakfast options were plentiful. We are vegan and there were several delicious options. The outdoor lounge area was also excellent. Blankets were readily available if it was chilly, or they lit the fire pit. I’d highly recommend this hotel to anyone staying in Cusco.

What is Valle Sagrado Verde?
[from vallesagradoverde.org]

In 2020 the families, communities and companies of the Sacred Valley have been strongly affected by the covid-19 pandemic and the consequent economic crisis. Much of our economy depends on tourism, the complete cessation of this industry has led us to rethink many of our objectives and also motivated us to work on strengthening our communities and environment.

With the dream of a Green Sacred Valley we see the opportunity for a more prosperous and healthy future.

We invite our friends and clients to participate as well. They can do it by donating directly to the reforestation program or acquiring services and products from our partner companies. In this way you give us a hand now, we will take care of you as soon as we can and all together make the world a better place.

How does Antigua work with Valle Sagrado Verde?
The Antigua Casona San Blas donates S/1 to Valle Sagrado Verde for every guest that stays with us. Every night booked helps protect our beautiful Andean landscapes from fires, and helps reforest areas that were once abundant groves.
